Pitkin County is seeking proposals for a data center chiller replacement project. The project involves removing the existing chiller and installing a new one at the jail facility. Key dates include a question submission deadline of July 29, 2026, and a proposal submission deadline of August 12, 2026. The evaluation criteria include approach to the project, experience, cost, and schedule. A pre-proposal site visit is recommended for July 28, 2026. For construction contracts exceeding $150,000, the county will withhold retainage in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total contract amount from progress payments. Retainage will be released in accordance with the terms of the executed contract.
The contractor shall provide manufacturer warranty documentation for installed equipment and a minimum one-year workmanship warranty.
Selection will be based on: Approach to project (30%), Similar project experience and qualifications (20%), Estimated cost of services (40%), and Project schedule and completion plan (10%).
Proposers must submit a statement of qualifications, including references for significantly similar projects with local governments, and a list of all subcontractors including their qualifications.
