Sealed proposals for the Greenwood Boulevard Reconstruction Project in Maplewood, Missouri are due October 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM local time at City Hall. Bidders must be on MODOT's qualified contractor list and submit a contractor questionnaire 7 days prior to the bid opening. Plans and specifications are available online and from Drexel Technologies. The successful bidder will be required to provide proof of financing and a record of successful completion of similar projects. The city reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, subject to confirmation by MODOT and the city. The project includes the reconstruction of Greenwood Boulevard from Sussex Avenue to Canterbury Avenue. The city will affirmatively ensure that businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids. No 2nd tier subcontracting will be allowed. This contract is for flat pavement sawing for both bituminous and concrete pavement to remove alleys, streets, curb, gutters, sidewalks, and driveways including sawing of weakened plane joints and construction joints in new concrete pavement. The contract includes sealing joints in new concrete pavement. Bidders must read the specifications carefully, as there may be special requirements not commonly offered by other contracts. The contractor shall invoice on a per-project basis. The contractor shall take precautions to avoid damaging existing private facilities. The contractor must show experience with similar projects in confined areas. The contractor will be responsible for the acts and omissions of his/her employees. The contractor must furnish sufficient workforce and adequate equipment. The contractor must comply with safety guidelines. The contractor must report all accidents in writing. The city will supply construction barricading, warning signs, and solar-powered flashing arrow boards. The successful bidder must provide insurance and indemnification that meets or exceeds the attached minimum city requirements. The city may terminate the project for cause or convenience. The owner qualifies for exemption from state and local sales and use taxes. No part of the work shall be sublet without prior written approval. The contractor must comply with North Central Texas standard specifications and best management practices. Full depth concrete sawing, green flat sawing, and sealing joints are separate pay items.
