The City of Ashland is seeking bids for the removal and disposal of all structures from four specified properties. Bids are due by 3:00 PM on April 30, 2026, and will be opened publicly at 3:05 PM on the same day. Asbestos survey and abatement will be completed by the City prior to demolition. Contractors must submit a comprehensive bid packet including various affidavits and certifications. The contract will be awarded separately for each location. The successful contractor must complete the work within 60 consecutive days from the notice to proceed and provide performance and payment bonds. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
The contract shall be completed on or before 60 days from the executed contract.
Requests for payment, partial or full, shall be submitted in the form of an itemized invoice and shall be payable within ten 10 business days from the day of commission approval.
The contractor shall guarantee all the work for a period of one 1 year from the date of final payment, as written on said check, against defects resulting from the use of inferior materials, equipment or workmanship.
The contract shall be awarded to the contractor that offers the lowest and best bid as determined by the department director.
The City requires that the contractor, if requested, shall furnish satisfactory evidence that he has the necessary resources to fulfill the conditions of the contract documents.
The city may retain from the moneys that are, or which may become due said contractor, the citys estimated daily cost of the completed work for each and every calendar day the completion of the work be delayed beyond the time specified herein for such completion or such extensions thereto, as may be approved in writing by the city upon written request from the contractor.
Contractors are required to satisfy themselves by personal examination of the contract documents and investigation at the site of the project as to the conditions existing and the difficulties likely to be encountered in the construction of the project.
Each contractor acknowledges that the boyd circuit court shall have jurisdiction over disputes relating to the contractor award.
