This is a sealed bid solicitation for the replacement of morgue freezers at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, New York. The project involves demolition, construction, and installation of new morgue refrigerators, including associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. A mandatory pre-bid site visit is scheduled for July 14, 2026. All questions must be submitted in writing by July 29, 2026. Bids are due by 10:00 AM EST on August 12, 2026, and will be opened online via Microsoft Teams. Contractors must be registered in SAM. gov and verified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The contractor shall begin performance within calendar days and complete it within calendar days after receiving award, notice to proceed. The contract period of performance for base bid construction shall be 365 calendar days from notice to proceed NTP.
Payment will be made upon receipt of a properly prepared, itemized invoice, validated by the COR, and submitted through the tungsten network.
The contractor shall guarantee that all work performed will be free from all defects in workmanship and materials and that all installation will provide the capacities and characteristics specified. The contract further guarantees that if, during a period of one year from the date of the certificate of completion and acceptance of the work, any such defects will be repaired by the contractor at his own cost.

A prebid site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, 7/14/26 at 11:30am. Prospective bidders shall meet at JAMES J. PETERS VAMC, 130 West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, NY **** Building 100 and Room Number GC100. Note: No other site visits will be allowed.
Questions must be received no later than July 29, 2026, at 12:00pm.
Bids providing less than 120 calendar days of government acceptance after the date bids are due will not be considered and will be rejected.
