The Town of Bennett is seeking proposals for ongoing legal services as a prosecuting attorney for its municipal court. The selected attorney or law firm must have experience in municipal law and court proceedings. Services include prosecuting violations, communicating with law enforcement and court staff, preparing for hearings, conducting legal research, and collaborating with the town attorney. Proposals are due August 25, 2026. The town is not obligated to accept the lowest cost proposal and will consider qualifications, references, and service quality.

The contractor shall submit monthly invoices for services rendered and pre-approved expenses. The town shall pay within 30 days of receipt, unless services or documentation are unsatisfactory. The town does not base its award on price alone. A law degree from an ABA-accredited U. S. law school is required. Minimum of five years of experience in criminal and/or administrative prosecution is preferred. If the town discovers material was priced incorrectly, proposers agree to promptly refund all overpayments and pay all reasonable audit expenses.
