Lot 1: Project Summary The New Dominion NTCRA project is located on U. S. Forest Service, Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, Gunnison ( GMUG), Norwood district managed lands and a private conservation easement owned by the Town of Ophir. The site consists of two collapsed draining mine adits, the lower site, 00, adjacent to Ophir Pass Road which is bounded by the Town of Ophir and the upper site 02, just north of Town all on GMUG land. Both sites have waste rock piles adjacent to the draining adits. The Project goals are to divert the water away from the existing waste rock piles and at the lower site cap the waste rock pile to prevent human health exposure and consolidate the upper pile away from the portal to prevent interaction with the draining mine water.
