Recycled Metal Government Bids & RFPs

Bids are due by 2:00 PM local time on July 8, 2026. The successful bidder will have seven days to remove the scrap after being notified that the pile/dumpster is ready for pickup.

The successful bidder will submit payment to the City of Canton within ten days after pickup of scrap along with applicable weigh slips. ACH payment will be required.

The scrap will be awarded to the person or company who bids the highest price per ton.

The undersigned certifies that the bidder has the facilities, ability and financial resources available for the fulfillment of the contract if such be awarded to said bidder. Upon request, the bidder will be expected to amplify the foregoing statements as necessary to satisfy the owner concerning his ability to successfully perform the work in a satisfactory manner.

The city of canton may impose a **** penalty to any bidder that withdraws their bid after the bid opening and prior to a contract awards.

The document clearly states a under sampling, inspection, and test procedures, indicating samples are not required.

Failure to submit a complete bid packet, including a bid check, may be cause for rejection of your bid. Bids not received on or before 2:00 PM local time on July 8, 2026, will be disqualified.

The average revenue from scrap is $5,000 annually.

Winning bidder agrees to pick up the recyclable materials within five 5 working days after notification. The Fort Knox QRP shipping hours are from 7:30 a. m. until 2:30 p. m. est, monday through friday except for federal holidays.

The winning bidder will be invoiced within five 5 days of time of pickup. Payment will be due within fifteen 15 calendar days from the date of pickup.

Evaluations for award will be based on best price offered to the QRP.

The winning bidder agrees to provide the attached preaward survey as part of this solicitation. Survey must be received at the same time this solicitation package is returned to the Fort Knox QRP.

If the winning bidder fails to pay for and/or remove property offered for sale herein within the time allowed by the agreement, the Fort Knox QRP will send the winning bidder a written ten 10 day notice of default calculated from the date of mailing, and upon the winning bidder's failure to cure such default within the period, the winning bidder shall lose all rights, title, and interest which he may otherwise have acquired in and to such property as to which a default has occurred.

A visit by prospective bidders to examine/view the materials offered may be arranged by contacting the Fort Knox QRP at 502 ****, or ****, 8:00 a. m. - 3:00 p. m. est monday through friday except for federal holidays. Materials will be available for examination until end of day one business day before all bidding closes.

Any potential bid may be deemed nonresponsive for reasons including, but not limited to, failure of the bidder to conform to this solicitation, the bidder's previous failure to conform to safety or environmental requirements, the bidder's previous or current indebtedness to the federal government, or previous acts of negligence or misconduct on behalf of the bidder related to their performance of a Fort Knox QRP sales agreement or similar sales agreement with an agency of the federal government.

The RFP submittal is due June 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM MST. The notice of award is proposed for July 7, 2026.

The city reserves the right to accept or reject any or all submittals, and select the consulting firm that is deemed to be in the owners best interest.

Applicants must sign and date the submittal. Proposers shall submit a shipment timeline of dates and schedule for delivery and identify the main point of contact.

Faxed proposals will not be accepted. Proposals must be clearly marked and received by the specified deadline.

Bids must be received no later than 2:00 p. m. Pacific Time on July 2, 2026. Any bids submitted after this designated date and time will not be accepted.

Amounts due must be remitted to the U. S. Treasury within 30 days of receipt of the invoice. Electronic ACH payments submitted via pay. gov are highly preferable.

The highest percentage bid will receive the agreement award. Agreement will be awarded to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforming to the request for bid will be most advantageous to the NRSw QRP, price and other factors considered.

The NRSw QRP may request information to verify that the successful bidder possesses the equipment and experience necessary to perform the agreement. Verification may be performed by a visit of government personnel.

Any agreement awarded to an individual or firm who, at the time of award was suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible for receipt of the agreement with this government agency, is voidable at the option of the government. Offerors are cautioned to submit their offers without consultation, communication, or agreement with any other offeror for the purpose of restricting competition.
