The City of Hanford is soliciting bids for a multi-site roofing replacement project at the Veterans Memorial Building and City Hall Building. The base bid work must be completed within 30 calendar days following the notice to proceed. Bids must be submitted digitally through BidNet by 2:00 p. m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The project requires compliance with prevailing wage rates for Kings County, California, and includes various insurance and labor compliance requirements. A nonmandatory prebid job walk is scheduled for September 17, 2026.
The base bid work shall be completed within thirty 30 calendar days following issuance of the notice to proceed.
The city shall retain 5 of such estimated value of the work done and materials on hand and shall monthly pay to the contractor, while carrying on the work, the balance not retained.
The contract documents include all parts of this project document, as well as all referenced federal, state and local agency requirements.
The project will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder based on the base bid amount.
Bidder shall certify that he and his subcontractors are, at the time of bidding and shall be throughout the period of the contract, licensed under the provisions of chapter 9, division 3 of the business and professions code of the state of california.
The contractor shall forfeit two hundred dollars **** to the city for each calendar day or portion thereof, for each worker paid less than the prevailing rates.
There will be a nonmandatory prebid job walk at 401 N Irwin St, Hanford, CA **** at 11:00 a. m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Before any contract is awarded, the bidder may be required to furnish a complete statement of the origin, composition and manufacture of any and all materials to be used in the construction of the work together with samples.
All questions regarding this project shall be in writing and shall be submitted through bidnet, no later than 4:00 p. m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Proposals in which the prices obviously are unbalanced may be rejected.
