This is a sources sought notice for market research purposes only, not a request for proposals. The VA is seeking firms with NAICS code **** for the replacement of
medical gas outlets at the Portland VA
Medical Center. Responses are requested by August 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM PST. The notice details required information, including contact information, business size classification, capabilities statement, bonding capability,
project time estimates, and past performance. The estimated
project magnitude is between $100,000 and $250,000. The
project will occur in two phases, with specific timeframes for each phase. The
project will require a certified installer and verifier. The
project will require the contractor to ensure that all
medical center activities remain unimpeded by construction activities. The contractor will have to provide a negative air machine in each patient room per phase. The contractor will have to route the exhaust outside the window and secure it with plywood to prevent unauthorized access into the rooms. The contractor will have to ensure that smoke is exhausted outside of the facility. The VA will provide Ewing patients with devices and oxygen tanks throughout the duration of the
project. The contractor will have to lock out/tag out the Ewing MA, MV, and O2 that supplies services to each patient room. The contractor will have to purge the main branch lines and certify according to the specifications. The contractor will have to ensure that all class 4 ICR requirements are met according to the permit. The VA FMS will not provide these for this
project. The contractor will have to provide rent/use something equivalent for this
project. The VA FMS uses anteroom by hepacart to satisfy the class 4 ICR requirements. Ewing has wooden stud framing so contractor must take all precautions to prevent fire hazards. See specifications for additional requirements related to fire and life safety.
