Project involves the removal of structures including a single-family residence, carport with studio, cabin, barn, and related infrastructure at two locations in La Honda, California. Bids are due by July 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM. A mandatory site walk is scheduled for July 9 and July 15, 2026. The estimated construction cost is $400,000. A California contractor's license (Class A or B with C21 Demolition) and DIR registration are required. Bid security of 10% is required. The project must be completed within 60 calendar days from the notice to proceed.
The project must be fully completed within 60 calendar days from the start date set forth in the notice to proceed. District anticipates that the work will begin on or about September 1, 2026.
District will pay contractor the contract price for all of contractors direct and indirect costs to perform the work, including all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, taxes, insurance, bonds and all overhead costs, in accordance with the payment provisions in the general conditions.
Contractor will fully complete all of the work required by the contract documents to the districts satisfaction, including all punch list items and any required commissioning or training, and has provided the district with all required submittals, including the instructions and manuals, product warranties, and asbuilt drawings.
This project requires a valid California contractors license for the following classifications: class a or class b with c21 demolition contractor license. District may not accept a bid proposal from or enter into the contract with a bidder, without proof that the bidder is registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations DIR to perform public work pursuant to labor code ****.
If contractor fails to complete the work within the contract time, district will assess liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000 per day for each day of unexcused delay in achieving final completion.
A site walk will be held on July 9, 2026 at 10:30 a. m. and July 15, 2026 at 10:30 a. m. to acquaint all prospective bidders with the project site. Attendance at one of the site walks is mandatory.
Any bid protest must be submitted in writing and received by District at **** El Camino Real, Los Altos, CA **** or sent via email at ***@***. *. * before 5:00 p. m. no later than two working days following the bid opening.
A bidder who fails to attend a mandatory site walk may be disqualified from bidding. A bid that does not fully comply with the bidders questionnaire requirement may be rejected as nonresponsive.
