Sealed bids for the annual supply of submersible
pumps are accepted until May 14, 2025, 5:00 PM, at the BPU purchasing office. Detailed specifications are available on the website. Bids will be opened publicly on May 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Vendors must submit two sets of bid documents. The Brownsville Public Utilities Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Questions concerning terms, conditions, and technical specifications should be directed to the specified contacts. A tentative timeline for the bidding process is provided. The successful vendor agrees to send a personal representative with binding authority to the BPU upon request. All items must be new, in first-class condition. The BPU is exempt from federal, state, and local taxes. Failure to sign the bid will disqualify it. The contractor agrees not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment. Delivery is FOB Brownsville Public Utilities Board. The contract will be placed into effect by means of a purchase order. Annual supply quantities are estimated and are based on prior years' usage. Material will be ordered as needed. The BPU has the right to increase or decrease quantities as deemed necessary. Any interpretation, correction, or change to the invitation to bid will be made by addendum. The vendor must keep one release of items in stock for immediate shipment. The contract is for one year with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods. Required forms include an acknowledgement form, debarment certificate, legal notice, ethics statement, conflict of interest questionnaire, W9 or W8 form, direct deposit form, residence certification form, bid schedule, cost sheet, cashier's check or bid bond, OSHA 300 log, contractor pre-bid disclosure, subcontractor pre-bid disclosure, references, addenda, ethics statement, and previous customer reference worksheet. Questions and concerns from prospective contractors should be raised with the owner and its consultant if applicable and resolved, if possible, prior to the bid submission date. Deviations from specifications may allow the owner to reject a bid as nonresponsive.
