Underwater Safety Government Bids & RFPs

The successful bidder will commence work after a written notice to proceed has been given by the county and the successful bidder further covenants and agrees to begin work and perform same continuously and without interruptions to its completion during a one hundred twenty 120 calendar day time frame from the written notice to proceed, unless suspension thereof due to unsuitable weather or other conditions has been approved by the county engineer.

The county will make monthly payments to the successful bidder within thirty 30 days upon receipt an invoice for work completed. Five percent will be retained pending the project completion and final acceptance.

The successful bidder shall agree for itself, its heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns to maintain all the work done under the contract in good condition for a period of two 2 years from the date of final acceptance of the same, the county being the judge of the condition of the work and upon the acceptance of the completed work and before the surety which has furnished the performance bond is released, the contractor shall furnish a maintenance bond from an acceptable surety company in the full amount of the final cost to the county.

Award of the contract will be made at the countys option to the lowest responsible bidder.

The county commissioners may make such investigations as they deem necessary to determine the ability of the bidder to perform the work, and upon request of the county the bidder shall furnish promptly such information and data as may be required or convenient for such purpose.

It is expressly understood and agreed that in case of the failure on the part of the successful bidder, for any reason, except as herein provided, to complete the furnishing and delivery of the materials and the doing and performance of said work within the aforesaid time period, the county shall deduct from any monies due or which may become due to the successful bidder, or if no monies shall be due, the county shall have the right to recover the amount of one hundred **** dollars per day, as liquidated damages, for each and every calendar day elapsing between the time stipulated for the completion and the actual date of completion.

Bids shall be accepted from qualified and experienced firms to furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, supplies, tools, permitting, safety measures and all other necessary incidentals to perform a bathymetric survey to map the underwater topography of the cityâs waterways utilizing lidar or echo sounding technologies.

The bid notice states that a nonmandatory prebid conference shall be held virtually on December 2, 2025 at 3:00 p. m. , local time. If mandatory, all bidders planning to submit a bid are required to attend this virtual conference.
