Sealed proposals are invited for the 2026 Measure E Street Rehabilitation Project. The scope includes pavement removal, paving, utility adjustments, striping, and drainage improvements. Bids are due by 3:30 PM on July 28, 2026. The estimated project value is $1,000,****, with a completion time of 30 working days. The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder with the lowest total bid price. A bid bond of at least 10% is required. Contractors must possess a valid California Class A license or specific combinations of other classes. Questions must be submitted in writing no later than five working days before the bid opening. No pre-bid meeting is scheduled.
Bids will be received at the City of Grass Valley, Engineering Division, 125 East Main Street, Grass Valley, CA **** until 3:30 p. m. on July 28, 2026.
The performance bond must remain in effect until the end of all warranty periods set forth in the special provisions.
The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting a responsive bid with the lowest total bid price for the base bid.
The contractor shall possess a valid California Class A contractors license, or a combination of specific classes, and all licenses shall remain in effect throughout the term of the contract.
The contractor shall pay the City of Grass Valley the sum of $500 per day, as liquidated damages, for each and every calendar day delay in finishing the work in excess of the working days prescribed.
Representatives of the bidder have visited the project site and have familiarized themselves with the conditions under which the project work is to be performed.
Any protest regarding the award of the contract must be submitted pursuant to the instructions stated in the special provisions.
Bidders who do not purchase bid documents directly from the City of Grass Valley, but who have requested to receive revisions, shall only receive email and/or fax notices of the availability of revisions/addenda. It shall be the bidders responsibility to access the actual revisions/addenda as electronic copies from the City's website. Such bidder may be found nonresponsive if that bidder fails to acknowledge, as set forth herein, any addenda or does not take into account any additional information provided by the City.
