Shade Restoration Government Bids & RFPs

All work must be completed within one hundred eighty days (180) after issuance of notice to proceed.

Progress payments will be made on or about thirty (30) days after submission of contractor's applications for payment, with 95% of work completed paid and 5% retained.

Award will be to the lowest responsible bidder, based on the city's evaluation, provided the bid is in the best interest of the city.

Bidders may be required to submit a statement of qualifications verifying experience, capacity, plant, equipment, and financial statements.

Failure to complete the work as prescribed shall be considered a breach of contract and subject to liquidated damages of $1,**** per day.

An optional pre-bid conference is scheduled for July 30, 2026, at 9:00 AM, held virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Reliance on incomplete, inaccurate, or out-of-date information from sources other than BidNet may lead to disqualification.

The estimated cost for this project ranges from $3,003,**** to $3,310,****.

All work must be completed prior to December 1, 2026.

Payments will be made in accordance with the village accounts payable cycle. The village shall not be required to pay any interest or late charges on any amount owed to contractor.

The village intends to award the contract to the lowest responsive bid, dependent on qualifications.

Proposals must include references from a minimum of three professional references from similar or closely related work.

An initial site visit is recommended for all interested contractors to evaluate the extent of the project. The site visit should be completed by July 29, 2026.

If the apparent low bidder is unable to meet the requirements of the service contract, the village shall offer the project to the next lowest bidder.

All tree seedlings purchased under this bid project must be ready for delivery or pickup by November 1, 2027. Seed collections that will be grown by another provider shall be delivered in a timely manner right after collection in fall 2026.

Sealed bids will be received electronically until 2:00 p. m. , local time, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Payment on this contract will be made by Visa or Mastercard. Payment shall be at the lump sum price stated in this invitation to bid and/or resultant contract.

The contract shall provide that the contractor agrees to correct any defective or faulty work or material, which may appear within one 1 year after completion of the work and receipt of final payment.

The city reserves the right to make an award to the responsive and responsible bidder whose product or service meets the terms, conditions, and specifications of the ITB and whose bid is considered to best serve the city's interest.

Possession of a State of Florida Certified General Contractor license, or State of Florida Certified Building Contractor license, or any other state or county licenses, certifications or registrations deemed legally permissible by the city to conduct the nature of the work required in this solicitation.

Failure to adhere to bid security requirements may be grounds to consider the bid as nonresponsive. The city may terminate this agreement at the city's option if the contractor is found to have submitted a false certification.

A pre-bid conference and site visit will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 10:00 am EST at Oswald Park Recreation Center. While attendance is not mandatory, tours at other times might not be available.

Any bidder who is not recommended for award of a contract and who alleges a failure by the city to follow the city's procurement ordinance or any applicable law may protest to the Procurement Department Director, by delivering a letter of protest within five 5 days after a notice of intent to award is posted.

No bid will be accepted from, nor will any contract be awarded to, any person who is in arrears to the City of Fort Lauderdale, upon any debt or contract, or who has defaulted, as surety or otherwise, upon any obligation to the city, or who is deemed irresponsible or unreliable by the City Commission of Fort Lauderdale.
