The Long Beach Public Utilities Department (LBPU) is seeking quotes for forklift and manlift preventive maintenance and repair services. Bidders must be located within a 70-mile radius of LBPU's operations service center. Quotes must be submitted electronically via the Long Beach Buys portal by September 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The contract period is one year, extendable by mutual agreement for up to two additional one-year periods. The award will be based on unit prices, discounts, and meeting specifications. Bidders must be licensed and certified by the State of California. As-needed repairs require a written description of the maintenance/repair and location. Semiannual preventive maintenance is required. LBPU reserves the right to reject all quotes. Additional work may be requested outside the scope of the initial RFQ. Sales tax is not included in the unit prices. A one-year warranty is required for all services. Insurance requirements are detailed in the general conditions. Local preference may apply to bids from Long Beach-based businesses.
Quotes are to be received by Tuesday, September 16, 2025, no later than 11:00 AM. Quotes received after the date and time will not be considered for the service.
Payment for items and services shall be made in due course of payments of LBPU after completion of delivery and acceptance by LBPU and upon receipt of an invoice from the awarded contractor. Payment will not be authorized until service has been completed. LBPU will pay said invoice in due course of payments, usually no more than thirty 30 days after receipt of the invoice, providing that all items are in accordance with these specifications, inspected and accepted by LBPU and that applicable certifications and reports have been submitted in accordance with this contract.
Contractor warrants that all services performed under this contract shall be in good working order and shall conform to the contractors published specifications. Contractor shall warrantguarantee all parts, materials and labor done against failure due to defective material andor faulty workmanship from date of acceptance of the work by LBPU for a minimum of one 1 year.
The award will be based on the unit prices, and percentage discounts given along with meeting the specification requirements stated herein.
Each bidder shall be fully qualified by ability, knowledge, and experience to satisfactorily perform the service required in these specifications and shall be engaged in the business of providing forklift and manlift preventive maintenance and as-needed repair services by the use of its own trained and qualified employees and have the equipment, tools, materials, and supplies capable of performing the mentioned services within the required time frame. Bidders must be licensed and certified for forklift and manlift preventive maintenance and repairs by the state of California to provide services as described. The contractor must have been in business providing forklift and manlift preventive maintenance and as-needed repair services for at least the last three 3 years.
Preventive maintenance and as-needed repairs shall be conducted at LBPU operations service center, andor at LBPU treatment plant, andor at LBPU gas facility. If preventive maintenance or repair is unable to be conducted at LBPU operations service center, LBPU treatment plant, or LBPU gas facility. awarded contractor must provide in writing a description of maintenancerepair and where it is to be completed.
