The City of Berkeley is seeking proposals for processing source-separated organic materials into compost and soil amendments, with a hauling option. Proposals must be received by December 4, 2025. An optional pre-bid meeting and facility walkthrough will be held on November 24, 2025. The contract will be for a five-year period, beginning on March 1, 2026, and ending on March 1, 2031. The city requires the selected contractor to provide documentation and samples, and to comply with various city ordinances regarding non-discrimination, living wage, and equal benefits. The city will make payment to the vendor within 30 days of receipt of a correct and complete invoice. The city reserves the right to award all or parts of this contract to several bidders, to not select any bidders, and/or to resolicit proposals.
