The City of Redding is seeking quotes for towing services. The contract will be for a one-year period, with two possible one-year extensions. Bidders must be qualified and established in the towing business. Services include towing, jump-starting, tire changing, gasoline delivery, and vehicle unlocking. Bidders must be available 24/7 and respond within 30 minutes. Three classes of tow trucks (A, B, C) are specified with detailed equipment requirements. Subcontracting requires written permission. Quotations must be submitted to the Purchasing Office, 3rd floor, City Hall, 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California **** prior to 2:00 p. m. PT, Thursday, June 11, 2026. Quotes received after this time and date will not be accepted or considered.
The City agrees to pay the tow operator monthly in arrears for services provided upon receipt of an itemized invoice. Payment terms are net 30 unless otherwise agreed to by both parties.
Award of contracts shall be based on tow operator's overall evaluated total compliance with the requirements of the specifications, terms, and conditions, ability to provide required insurance certificates, past experience in vehicle tow, years of service, and vehicle and equipment resources.
Only those tow operators who are qualified and are, or have been, established in the business of providing vehicle tow services are invited to submit bids. The City of Redding will not accept a bid from a vendor who does not submit a copy of their current licenses to perform towing services, a reference form, and a company profile form.
The cutoff date and time for receiving questions regarding this bid is 5:00 p. m. PT, on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Failure to acknowledge any addenda issued may cause the bid to be considered nonresponsive.
