The bid is for the construction of a new baseball field, including site preparation, grading, and installation. Bids must be submitted by December 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Questions must be submitted in writing by November 26, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The final addendum will be posted by November 27, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Contractors must possess the proper license and provide bid security. A performance bond and payment bond are required. The project must be completed within 150 consecutive calendar days of the commencement date.
The contract work is to be finally and fully complete within 150 consecutive calendar days of the commencement date recorded on the notice to proceed.
The town agrees to pay to the contractor the sum not to exceed of , payable as follows: a sum equal to the percentage of work completed on a monthly basis minus a 5 retainage fee up to the first 50 of the contract.
The contractor warrants that he/she/it will be responsible for the maintenance or correction of any work completed under this contact that may become defective due to faulty workmanship or materials for a period of one year after final acceptance of the contract work performed.
The award of the contract, if it is awarded, will be to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder whose qualifications indicate the award will be in the best interest of the owner.
The contractors submitting a bid for this project must possess the proper license classification to perform the work elements contained in the specifications in accordance with north carolina general statutes and if selected, provide a copy of their active license to the owner.
The town reserves the right to assess liquidated damages of 300 per calendar day per property for failure to meet the above timelines.
Contractors are welcome to visit the site independently prior to submitting a bid.
