The xray cabinet is used for inspecting components for cracks and flaws resulting from welding processes, those components are used to validate skills, abilities, and readiness of mechanics prior to being assigned to navsea qualification work and shipboard production work. This cabinet will reduce impact on boat availability by providing instant feedback to welders about their welds. There is no other equipment that can perform this function.
