Charlotte County is seeking bids for a 24-hour towing services annual contract for county-owned vehicles and equipment. The contract term is from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027, with two one-year renewal options. Bidders must be able to provide services 24/7 and secure vehicles on their premises. A 30-minute dispatch response time is required. The award will be to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Bid opening is at 2:00 PM on July 22, 2026. The contract term is from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, with an option to renew for two additional one-year terms.
All invoices will be paid in accordance with the Local Government Prompt Payment Act ****.
Award of this bid shall be to the overall lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, meeting or exceeding the above specifications. Another consideration for award may be any information obtained from contacting references.
Bidders must be qualified by experience and solvency, with proven reliability and the ability to supply all items/services within a reasonable time frame acceptable to Charlotte County. Bidder may be required to supply information in writing to verify requirements.
Failure to comply with the conditions set forth in the purchase order shall be deemed a breach of contract subjecting the bidder to forfeiture of the bid bond or other posted security and other possible penalties.
Prior to submitting a bid form, each bidder shall examine the site and all conditions thereon.
If the lowest bidder is deemed non-responsible, they shall receive written notice and have five (5) business days from the date of this notice to dispute the determination and provide additional information.
Bidder may be disqualified from furnishing goods or services if they violate the State of Florida Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees. Also, if a contractor is found to have submitted a false certification or is on certain scrutinized companies lists, the agreement may be terminated.
