We seek individuals who know Karuk culture, traditional regalia, cultural practices, and the Karuk language. We value instructors who can share these traditional skills and stories with youth in a positive way.

High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Must attend and complete Karuk Tribe Cultural Monitor training sessions. Must have the ability to recognize cultural artifacts, human remains, grave goods, evidence of village sites, etc. Must be able to lift and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds to walk long distances, sometimes in steep and brushy terrain to work outdoors and to engage in sustained physical labor. Must have reliable transportation in order to report to the work location every day as assigned. Must be a self-starter, well organized, and willing to learn new skills. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening test. Must adhere to required preemployment background check, crim check and FBI fingerprints.

The applicant must not have been found guilty of, or entered a plea of no contender or guilty plea to any felonious offenses or two or more misdemeanor offense under federal, state, or tribal law involving crimes of violence sexual assault, molestation, exploitation, contact or prostitution crimes against persons an offense committed against children.

High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Must have completed the Karuk tribe cultural monitor training sessions. Must have the ability to recognize cultural artifacts, human remains, grave goods, evidence of village sites, etc.

Must successfully pass a preemployment drug screening test and adhere to required preemployment background check, crim check and FBI fingerprints. The applicant must not have been found guilty of, or entered a plea of no contender or guilty plea to any felonious offenses or two or more misdemeanor offense under federal, state, or tribal law involving crimes of violence sexual assault, molestation, exploitation, contact or prostitution crimes against persons an offense committed against children.

Must have knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment, proper methods used in cleaning work, basic hand tools and equipment used in routine building maintenance and grounds keeping work, and safe work practices. Must have the ability to clean and care for an assigned area and equipment, follow oral and written instructions, read and write at a level required for successful job performance, recognize and locate conditions which require maintenance and repair, use and care for tools used in work assignments. Must have the ability to work reliably on own initiative without close supervision ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods stoop, kneel and crouch to pick up or move objects, office equipment and furniture physical ability to lift and carry objects weighting up to 50 pounds without assistance physical ability to lift and move heavier objects with assistance normal manual dexterity and handeye coordination corrected vision and hearing to normal range good verbal communication skills abilities to use vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, shampooers, buffers, waxing equipment, grounds keeping equipment and basic hand tools. Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and to perform duties with industry, reliability, integrity and initiative. Must adhere to confidentiality and health insurance portability and accountability act hipaa policies. Must submit and successfully pass a criminal background check if required. Must successfully pass a preemployment drug screening test. Must provide documentation of immunity to measles, and rubella, or become vaccinated with the recommended vaccines and hepatitis b vaccine. Must test for tuberculosis tb at time of hire and per cdc guidelines as required. Must have an annual health exam and a flu or exemption as required. Must be a selfstarter, well organized, and willing to learn new skills. Must possess valid drivers license, good driving record, and be insurable by the tribes insurance carrier.
