Project to reroof main house, garage, and cottage, and stabilize lower barn at Hawthorns Historic Complex. Bids due July 16, 2026. Mandatory pre-bid meetings and site visits on June 25 and June 30, 2026. Estimated project cost is $800,000. Award of contract anticipated August 12, 2026. Work cannot commence before September 1, 2026 due to seasonal limitations. Class A or Class B with C39 roofing license required. Bid guarantee of 10% required.
Work on site is to be complete by November 1, 2026, and project close out completion by November 2026.
The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder with the lowest responsive bid.
Contractors must possess an appropriate license (Class A or Class B with C39 roofing specialist) and be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations. Bidders must demonstrate trustworthiness, quality, fitness, capacity, and experience.
If a successful bidder fails to satisfy all conditions for accepting the award within the stated time limits, the district may declare the bidder's bid guarantee in default, and the amount of the bid guarantee shall be kept by the district as liquidated damages.
There are two mandatory pre-bid meetings and site visits scheduled for June 25, 2026, at 10:00 am and June 30, 2026, at 1:00 pm. All bidders must attend at least one site visit.
A bidder who intends to protest the apparent low bid must submit the protest to the district project manager within five (5) working days after the district's issuance of the memorandum of the bid opening.
Bid proposals containing blanks may be disqualified. Bids may be rejected from any contractor for whom there is documented evidence of project schedule delays and cost overruns and/or documented inability to meet project performance requirements.
The total project cost has been estimated to be approximately $800,000.
