The Sweetwater Authority is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from professional hydrogeology consultants for on-call groundwater and water well investigations. The Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation, requires a contractor to conduct subsurface conventional air-rotary drilling. The work involves mobilization and demobilization, drilling exploratory pilot holes, drilling rotary boreholes, furnishing and installing casing pipe, installing sealing caps, borehole abandonment, and standby time. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, tools, and materials. The contractor is responsible for obtaining permits, minimizing damage to property, and restoring the site to its original condition. Records of borehole logs must be submitted electronically within 21 days of completion. The department will pay for mobilization and demobilization in percentages of the bid price. The contractor must drill boreholes according to technical specifications and the department's directions. The contractor must provide dust control systems and ensure the boreholes are plumb and stable. The department may require modifications to the tasks, including relocation of boreholes and variations in depth. The contractor must provide ample opportunity for inspection of the work. Lot 1: Horizontally locate private underground utilities at sites throughout the state. DWM drilling may extend up to 30 feet below ground surface and occur in close proximity to building footprints or buried utility lines. Requirements: -- Horizontally locate private underground utilities and at requested sites using methods such as, but not limited to, electromagnetic ( EM) and real- time ground penetrating radar ( GPR) to detect utilities and anomalies. -- Must be able to perform services on a statewide basis, including very remote areas; -- Upon request, must provide photos of the marked utilities; -- Upon request, must provide GPR data for review; -- Must use environmentally safe paint and flags to identify any discoveries ( DWM will work with contractor to determine acceptable methods to be used); -- A map or image of the site will be provided to the contractor, or DWM will meet on- site to confirm the area and assist with access; -- All findings must be marked according to APWA standards; -- DWM will contact 811 prior to requesting service.
