Bids for timber harvesting at Manchester State Forest will open on September 2, 2025, at 11 am. Bids must reference bid on forest products sale msf 646 adv ts 26 and be in the form of a blended, per ton price for all forest products. A pre-logging conference must be scheduled between the state forest assistant director, the buyer, and a representative of the logger. The successful bidder must comply with the SC illegal immigration reform act, ****, and provide proof of commercial general liability insurance for one million dollars, with the SCFC named as coinsured, and proof of workers compensation insurance. Contractors shall follow OSHA safety regulations and comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as EPA worker protection standards and migrant and seasonal workers protection act, if applicable. All work must adhere to the SCFC BMP standards. A mandatory courtesy BMP exam from the SCFC BMP forester is required. At least one responsible person on the logging crew must be a graduate of the South Carolina timber operations professional program, or equivalent program. The buyer will be responsible for obtaining all necessary state and local permits and permission from DOT and any other pertinent entities prior to utilizing any state or local highway road or any other shoulder right of way associated with this tract. The buyer will also be responsible for performing all road work necessary to ensure safe operation of 18-wheel logging trucks. Payment of the performance bond and advance is to be within ten 10 days of notification of forestry commission approval. 9,955 tons advance required at contract 20,**** advance.
