Charlotte County is seeking bids for a large soil sifter for utilities. The estimated budget is $300,000. Bid opening is July 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Bid documents are available online. Questions can be directed to Mike Gallagher. Optional electronic bid submissions are available. The award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Delivery is to Charlotte County Fleet Management Division. Equipment must be new and meet minimum specifications. A one-year warranty is required. Payment terms follow the Local Government Prompt Payment Act.
All bids will indicate the lead time in calendar days required for the equipment to be delivered. Successful bidder will be held to the lead time. Equipment shall be delivered to the Charlotte County Fleet Management Division, **** Paulson Drive, Port Charlotte, FL ****.
All invoices will be paid in accordance with the Local Government Prompt Payment Act ****.
Equipment to have a full one (1) year standard warranty against defective materials and workmanship, which shall be inclusive in the bid price. If any part of the equipment should fail during the warranty period, it shall be repaired/replaced by the successful bidder at no expense to Charlotte County.
The award of this bid will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, who meets or exceeds the requirements of these specifications. Another consideration for award may be delivery time.
It is the intent of the County to award this contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, qualified by experience and solvency, with proven reliability and the ability to supply all items within a reasonable time frame acceptable to Charlotte County.
Failure to comply with the conditions set forth in the purchase order shall be deemed a breach of contract subjecting the bidder to forfeiture of the bid bond or other posted security and other possible penalties.
Equipment will be accepted only after an inspection indicates it meets or exceeds all specifications.
If, after bid opening, the lowest bidder is deemed nonresponsible by the County, such bidder shall receive written notice from the County of this determination. The bidder shall have five (5) business days from the date of this notice to dispute the determination and to provide to the County any additional information it deems relevant regarding the bidder's responsibility.
Bid forms containing any conditions, omissions, unexplained erasures, alterations, or irregularities of any kind may be rejected by the County. A bid containing a substitution is subject to disqualification if the substitution is not approved by the County.
