Sealed bids are invited for elevator maintenance and service for the Kenton County Board of Education. Bids are due by June 11, 2026, 1:00 PM EST. The contract period is from July 7, 2026, to June 30, 2027, with potential annual renewals. Bids will be evaluated on a best overall value basis, considering cost, company qualifications, quality of service, and references. Contractors must hold a valid Kentucky elevator contractor license and all onsite work must be supervised by a licensed Kentucky elevator mechanic. Contractor shall make available and honor all manufacturers warranties standard and extended.
Proposals shall be evaluated on a best overall value basis, based on overall cost (60 points), company qualifications (10 points), quality of service (20 points), and references (10 points).
Contractor shall hold a valid, current Kentucky elevator contractor license. All onsite work shall be performed by or under the direct supervision of a licensed Kentucky elevator mechanic.
In case of default by the contractor, the board may procure the articles and services from other sources and may deduct the amount of excess cost so paid from any unpaid balance due to the vendor.
Samples may be required to assist in making decisions for awarding of contracts. The samples must be furnished by the time and date specified for the bid opening. Failure to furnish samples may disqualify the bid.
A protest or notice of other controversy regarding the solicitation must be filed prior to opening. A protest or notice of other controversy regarding an award must be filed promptly within fourteen 14 days after the award.
Failure to comply with instructions, failure to furnish samples, or submitting a bid unsigned may disqualify the bid. Exceptions not accepted will disqualify the bid.
