Inspections, testing, and certification of lightning protection systems ( LPS) must be carried out at least every 24 months prior to the expiration date of the monthly certification. If the installed lightning protection systems ( LPS) are located in inaccessible areas for safety reasons, such as during continuous process operations, they must be tested during scheduled operations suspensions at intervals approved by the COR.
