Sealed bids are being accepted for construction materials until April 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Bidders for items 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 must be prequalified by MassDOT. A bid deposit of 5% of the total bid price is required. Successful bidders must ensure their employees have completed 10 hours of OSHA-approved training and pay minimum wage rates as established by the commissioner of labor and industries. The awarding authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
The bid forms must be filled out and signed as directed therein, sealed in an envelope with the name and address of the bidder, the title of the project and the item number. Sealed bids will be received until Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
The awarding authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding if it is deemed to be in the interest of the city to do so.
MassDOT prequalification of contractors with specific classes of work will be required for items 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7. Prospective bidders for these items must be prequalified in accordance with 720 CMR 5. 00.
If the successful bidder fails to execute the contract, his bid deposit will become the property of the city of Methuen.
No proposal may be withdrawn within thirty 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of bids.
The estimated values for the projects are: Item 1: $1,251,****, Item 2: $855,****, Item 3: $115,****, Item 4: $56,****, and Item 7: $1,044,****.
