This is a solicitation for a service contract for preventive and on-call corrective maintenance on Steris sterilizer equipment at the VA St. Louis Healthcare System. The contract will be for one year, starting September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027, with renewal options for an additional four years. The contractor shall provide all labor, travel, materials, and supervision to ensure the continuous reliability of the equipment. Services include OEM trained technicians, electronic and hard copy service reports, tracking of repair history and parts used, and providing OEM parts. Maintenance schedules will be based on manufacturer specifications. The contractor must notify the biomedical engineering shop supervisor and COR at least 48 hours in advance of preventative maintenance inspections. A designated staff member will accompany the contractor as an observer. Emergency repair service is also required, with unlimited calls and no charge for normal working hours. The contractor must have ready access to all parts, using only new OEM or OEM approved parts. The VA will not provide tools, test equipment, or service manuals; the contractor must obtain and make these available. All documentation and service bulletins must be provided within 30 days of award. Work outside the scope of the contract requires prior authorization. The contractor is responsible for all damage or loss of equipment and must provide a loaner if equipment is removed. The contractor accepts the equipment in as is condition, and failure to inspect prior to award will not relieve them of performance requirements. Services are to be provided during normal business hours (7:00 am to 3:30 pm CST, M-F), unless otherwise approved or directed. The contractor will provide 24/7 coverage if needed, with pre-approval for work outside normal hours.

The contractor shall supply all labor, travel, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and all incidentals required to complete on site full service planned maintenance and corrective maintenance repair of the equipment identified in section ii, in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, joint commission standards, design specifications, and the specifications, terms, and conditions of this contract.
The contractor has been provided an opportunity to visit the va medical centers, examine the equipment, and note in writing to the co any condition which may affect the contractors performance of this contract.
