This is a Request for Information (RFI) for the Arctic Mobility Sustainment System (AMSS). The US Army is seeking commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or emerging technologies with a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 7 or higher. Key requirements include systems that can provide 24 hours of active heating in ambient temperatures from 40F to 65F, have access points for medical treatment without removing the casualty, multiple carrying handles, compatibility with litter systems, and be small and lightweight while meeting performance requirements. Emergency stoves should be collapsible, lightweight, and compatible with wood and solid fuel sources. Systems must be Berry Amendment compliant and Buy American Act compliant. They should be fully operational at 40F and ideally at 65F with ice, snow, moisture, and thermal cycling. Ergonomic suitability for soldiers wearing issued cold weather clothing is essential. The useful life should be five years, with a storage life of 10 years. The color should be subdued to blend with arctic environments. Systems must be capable of operating for a continuous 72-hour mission. Responses should be in electronic copy (. pdf or . docx) with a size 12 font and one-inch margins. A white paper, not exceeding 10 pages, is required, including a cover page with product information, an executive summary, product technical description, product specifications with quantitative metrics, identified areas of concern or risk in the supply chain, relevant history of product utilization and test results, tools and equipment required for operation, transportation requirements and limitations, consumables, catalog price or rough estimate of unit cost, detailed description of manufacturing capability, capability to scale production, production timeline, and manufacturing locations. Marketing brochures, test reports, or extraneous materials will not be reviewed. If the technology is of interest, the government team will contact respondents with an invitation to an industry day in June 2026. All companies will be notified of invitation/non-invitation decisions before the end of May 2026.
