New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology is seeking proposals for seismology research projects. Proposals should focus on enhancing seismic monitoring, analysis, and research capabilities. Key objectives include developing improved seismic velocity models, supporting local earthquake magnitude estimation methods, acquiring and analyzing seismic/geophysical datasets, and studying seismicity causes in specific New Mexico regions. Project management, seismic data analysis expertise, and advanced degrees in geophysics or seismology are required. Deliverables include bi-weekly progress meetings, a mid-project report, and a final project report. The project timeline is from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Awards are anticipated to range from $100,000 to $150,000. Proposals are due by June 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM local time.

Invoices shall be sent to New Mexico Tech, Accounts Payable, 801 Leroy Place, Socorro, NM **** shall be presented at the beginning of each month covering services and/or expenses incurred during the previous month. All applicable taxes shall be shown as a separate line item.
All equipment, materials, supplies and workmanship furnished or installed are to be free of defects and proposer shall agree to replace solely at his/her expense any and all defective equipment, parts, etc. within a one (1) year period after the date of acceptance of the items and/or installation unless otherwise agreed to in writing at the time of award.
Award will be made to the proposer who receives the highest total score based on experience and past performance, scientific merit, references, cost, and New Mexico resident/veteran business preferences.
Personnel assigned to the project shall possess demonstrated experience and expertise in seismic data analysis, including relevant project examples or references, as well as adequate project management experience. Key personnel shall possess advanced university degrees in geophysics, seismology, or closely related fields.
Sections **** NMSA impose civil and criminal penalties for violation of the provisions of the Procurement Code. New Mexico criminal statutes impose felony penalties for illegal bribes, gratuities or kickbacks.
Questions must be submitted in writing no later than 5:00 PM seven (7) calendar days before the proposal is due.
Offers received later than the due date and time shall not be considered. Offers submitted by fax or email shall not be considered. Incomplete offers may result in dismissal of all or part of the response. Failure to include all information requested may render the offer nonresponsive.
Awards are anticipated to range from $100,000 to $150,000.
