Army is seeking industry input to refine the acquisition strategy and performance capabilities for the Future Advanced Long Range Common Optical Netted Fires Sensor (FALCONS) program. The government is seeking industry input on capabilities to perform hardware and software modifications, produce five FALCONS sensors, provide technical assistance, assist in testing and characterizing prototype sensors, and provide field service. The proposed timeline starts in fiscal year 2027 (FY27) with TDP modification and prototype production, with testing and characterization intended to start in FY28. The U. S. Army requires an advanced long-range sensor capability to meet Army of 2030 and **** objectives. The government design plans include integration of the 3rd Gen FLIR B Kit, precision far target location subsystem, networked capability, hardware for aided target detection and recognition, automated alignment, external laser designator, high definition color day camera, assured positioning navigation and timing (APNT), common graphical user interface (GUI), and interface with command and control (C2) systems. The government is conducting market research for industry partners to modify CAMTACS for enhanced ruggedness, producibility, and reliability to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for the FALCONS program.
