The City of Huntsville is seeking contractors for fire system services, including preventive maintenance, services, and repairs. Bids are due August 11, 2026. A bid bond is required. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Services include monthly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance, as well as as-needed repairs. The contract term is one year with potential for two one-year renewals.

The city will render payment by check on a net 30-day basis after receipt of an invoice.
The bidder shall assume full responsibility for warranty of all components of the equipment. A statement setting out the conditions of the warranty shall be attached with the bid.
All bids will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. This determination may involve factors such as price, conformity to specifications, financial ability, previous performance, facilities, equipment, availability of repair parts, experience, delivery promise, terms of payment, compatibility, and other objective and accountable factors.
Contractors must have a minimum of ten years of documented local experience and provide proof of a certified fire alarm contractor's permit. For central station alarm monitoring, contractors must have ten years of documented local experience and 24-hour emergency service with instant response.
Failure to comply with times specified in the notice to proceed may result in the contractor being prohibited from bidding on additional work for the City of Huntsville until back on schedule.
Questions must be submitted in writing by August 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM CST.
Bidders may be disqualified for failure to use bid forms, lack of signature, failure to properly complete the bid form, evidence of collusion, unauthorized alteration of the bid form, failure to submit a bid bond, or for public improvement projects, failure to note the general contractor's license number or bid amount.
