Sealed bids are requested for cosmetology supplies for the Ulster BOCES cosmetology program. Bids will be opened on June 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The bid period is August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027, with an option to extend. Bids must be submitted to Ulster BOCES Administration Building, 175 Route 32 North, New Paltz, NY ****, clearly marked Bid **** zip drive with bid documents and item list with pricing must be included. The board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, increase or decrease quantities, and award by groups. Samples may be requested at any time. Bidders must be prepared to present evidence of experience, ability, and financial standing if requested. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidders. Delivery must be made as ordered and within eight days of receipt of orders, unless otherwise specified. All items must meet current state board requirements and be equal to or superior in quality to items listed. A sample of items 1, 2, 3, and 4 kits must be submitted with the bid.
Delivery must be made as ordered and in accordance with the terms of the contract. Unless otherwise specified, delivery shall be made by the contractor, within eight 8 days of receipt of orders, time being of the essence. For student kits, delivery time is mandatory and must be within 10 days of receipt of the purchase order.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidders in conformity with the requirements set forth in the detailed specifications, the instructions to bidders, and the general and special conditions of the contract.
The bidder must be prepared, if requested by the purchasing agent, to present evidence of experience, ability and financial standing, as well as a statement as to plant, machinery and capacity of the manufacturer for the production and distribution of the commodity on which he is bidding.
Upon failure of the contractor to deliver within 10 days, or failure to make immediate replacement of rejected commodities when so requested, the school district may purchase from other sources to replace the commodity rejected or not delivered. On all such purchases the contractor agrees to reimburse the school district promptly for costs in excess of the contract cost.
A sample of item 1, 2, 3, and 4 kits must be submitted with the bid. Clearly label the outside of each box with the item. Each kit must include a sample of each item listed for that kit.
A bidder may be disqualified from receiving awards if such bidder, or any one in employ, has previously failed to perform satisfactorily in connection with public bidding or contracts.
