performance- based work statement. general information a. introduction. we will collect physiological and genomic data from populations of spiny lizards across a temperature and precipitation gradient to examine local adaptation to environmental conditions. we will additionally generate genomic data that can be used to determine patterns of evolutionary divergence given past environmental conditions, geological processes, and habitat availability. we will collect demographic and morphological information about giant kangaroo rats in two separate populations, the carrizo plain national monument and ciervo panoche natural area. this work will provide longterm monitoring information about two core populations and provide needed information about the impacts of fire and grazing on kangaroo rats.
