The Huntsville City Board of Education shall pay the contractor on a monthly basis upon receipt and approval of invoices and itemized statements for each period of service rendered. The board will pay all undisputed amounts due to the contractor on or before the 10th business day following the date on which the invoice was submitted.
The successful bidder shall guarantee all material and labor for a period of not less than one (1) year against defects of material or workmanship, dated from the time of acceptance.
The award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder or bidders meeting requirements and specifications. The Huntsville City Board of Education may not award on the basis of low bid only; quality, conformity with specifications, purpose for which required, terms of delivery, terms of payment, transportation, dates of delivery, past service, and experience are among the factors that may be considered.
Included with the bid, bidders must provide a brief historical company background, including evidence of three years of successful experience with clients of the size and nature of the Huntsville City Board of Education, a brief description of the safety program, a detailed description of proposed buses, one copy of the most recent full year audited financial statements, and the proposed organizational chart for this project.
The Huntsville City Board of Education will impose penalties for performance infractions. Examples include **** for a driver transporting students prior to return of background check results, **** for failure to comply with posted vehicle capacity, and $520 per bus per day for each route late to school.
