The City of New Orleans is seeking proposals for comprehensive veterinary care for the New Orleans Police Department Canine Unit. Services include medical care, emergency treatment, and wellness management. Proposals are due by July 7, 2026. Evaluation will be based on technical criteria and price. A presubmittal conference is scheduled for June 25, 2026.
The submission deadline is July 7, 2026, at 9:00 a. m. CST.
The city will require the successful firm to enroll in its direct deposit electronic payment program. Payments will be made electronically via ACH.
Proposals will be evaluated based on experience, technical approach, staffing qualifications, capacity/facilities/resources, understanding of project requirements, and price proposal.
Respondents must be qualified veterinary service providers with a valid Louisiana veterinary license, DEA registration, and licensed veterinary technicians. Board-certified veterinarians are preferred.
Breaking the cone of silence may result in disqualification. Failure to comply with contract terms can constitute cause for termination.
Respondents will have two business days from the date of notification by the designated purchasing official to appeal a decision of nonresponsiveness.
Disqualification may result from breaking the cone of silence, failing to submit timely, failing to complete required documents, or organizational conflicts of interest.
