Sealed bids are requested for pond maintenance at various sites. Bids must be submitted by February 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The contract term is for one year, with the possibility of two additional one-year extensions. The project is categorized under park maintenance and is therefore not subject to prevailing wage. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond or bank cashiers check payable to the plainfield park district for ten percent 10 of the amount of the bid. After bid opening, no bidder may withdraw its proposal for a period of ninety 90 calendar days. The park district will award the contract for this project to the lowest responsible bidder.
The initial term is on or about May 4th to October 2nd, 2026, for 22 weeks. The additional term year two is on or about May 3rd to October 1st, 2027, for 22 weeks, and year three is on or about May 1st to September 29th, 2028, for 22 weeks.
Payment shall be made by the park district to the contractor upon the park districts receipt of an invoice itemizing the work properly performed as determined by the park district, and delivery of lien waivers and sworn statements, for the period covered by the invoice.
The successful bidder warrants to the park district that all materials, supplies, and equipment furnished for the work will be of good quality and new unless otherwise required or permitted by the specifications, be free from defects not inherent in the quality required or permitted and conform to the specifications. The bidder guarantees against any faulty materials or workmanship for a period of one 1 year after final payment, or for the periods set forth in the scope of workspecifications, whichever is longer.
The park district will award the contract for this project to the lowest responsible bidder. In considering a bidders responsibility, the park district will evaluate, among other factors, terms of delivery, quality, conformity with specification, serviceability and any other factors as determined by the park district.
Bidders must be able to demonstrate that they have experience in performing and have successfully performed and are still actively engaged in performing work similar in kind and scope to the work of the project and are able to show that they have adequate laborers and materials to successfully complete the work as indicated in the bid documents and within the time required by the bid documents.
If the contractor fails to achieve substantial completion of the work by the substantial completion dates established in the contract documents andor as established in the approved construction schedules, the contractor shall be liable to and shall pay the owner the amount of **** per calendar day for each and every such day between the scheduled dates of substantial completion and the actual dates of final completion.
Each bidder shall visit the sites of the proposed work and fully acquaint itself with conditions, as they exist, and shall undertake such additional inquiry and investigation, as the bidder shall deem necessary so that the bidder may fully understand the requirements, facilities, possible difficulties and restrictions attending the execution of the work under the contract.
If the bidder is in doubt as to the interpretation of any part of the bid documents, or finds errors, discrepancies or omissions from any part of the contract documents, the bidder must submit a written request for interpretation thereof not later than five 5 business days prior to opening of bids to the park district.
