The tender seeks proposals for replacing the existing fire and intrusion alarm systems at the Hopewell Culture National Historical
Park. Bidders are urged to visit the site before submitting bids. The contract requires a detailed schedule, accident prevention plan, fire protection system impairment plan, list of subcontractors, schedule of values, quality control plan, waste management plan, contractor's commissioning plan, historic preservation treatment plan, list of required construction permits, and shop drawings. The successful bidder will be required to attend a preconstruction conference. The period of performance is 244 calendar days, inclusive of 7 weather days. The contractor is responsible for minimizing the impairment time of the
security system within the collections building, and arranging for a licensed
security guard if the system is impaired outside working hours. Additional documents, including liability insurance coverage and worker's compensation, must be submitted within 10 calendar days of the notice of award. The project will be subject to quality assurance inspections and must receive final approval from the contracting officer's representative. The contractor must comply with all applicable codes and standards, including ADA, NEC, NFPA 72, and UL standards. A service organization with 10 years of experience, 24-hour emergency service, and a service office within 75 miles of the site is required. The fire and intrusion alarm system must be designed by a NICET fire alarm systems level III or IV engineering technician. The system must be capable of supporting intelligent addressable wireless detectors and sensors. The contractor must provide a fully functional and code-compliant fire and intrusion alarm system at no additional cost to the owner. The system must be tested and inspected by the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ). The contractor is responsible for providing repair services and replacement parts for the system for a period of 10 years after the date of final acceptance of the work. Final cleanup, closeout submittals, and final inspection procedures are required. The contractor must submit completed as-built drawings upon project completion.
