Sealed bids are solicited for the Schaefer St & N Michigan Ave Rehabilitation. Bids must be submitted on printed forms furnished by the City Purchasing Office by Tuesday, June 30, 2026, 3:00 PM. A bid bond, bank money order, certified check, or cashier's check for five percent (5%) of the total bid amount is required for bids over $100,000. The bid opening is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Bids must be submitted to the City Purchasing Office by this date and time.
As part of the consideration for any bid/contract, all bidders agree to have withheld from any payment due them, any amounts for taxes, fees, or other charges due the City of Saginaw.
The contract includes a guarantee provision, and the contractor is responsible for all damages to persons or property until completion and final acceptance.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder complying with the conditions of the sealed bid information, provided such bid is reasonable and it is to the interest of the City of Saginaw to accept it.
Bidders may be required to give satisfactory evidence that they have been regularly engaged in the business or are reasonably familiar therewith, and that they are fully prepared with the necessary capital, materials, and machinery to complete the work.
Liquidated damages will be applied for each calendar day that the work extends beyond the prescribed completion period.
Each bidder should visit the site of the proposed work and fully acquaint themselves with the existing conditions there relating to the work.
The contractor shall submit all material and equipment samples, certificates, affidavits, etc. , as called for in the contract documents or required by the engineer. No material or equipment shall be manufactured or delivered to the site until the engineer has approved the required samples or certificates.
All disputes arising under this contract or its interpretation shall be presented by the contractor to the City Engineer for decision within ten (10) days of commencement of the dispute.
Bids may be disqualified if not submitted on printed forms, if erasures or corrections to pricing information are not initialed, if facsimiles or copies of bid bonds are submitted, or if envelopes are unmarked.
