Contract for snowplowing services at the public market for the **** season. Bids are due July 21, 2026. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 14, 2026. The contract is for one year with options to extend. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on best value. Bid security of $1,000 is required. Equipment must meet specific New York State and city standards. The city reserves the right to reject bids and limit awards.
The snowplow season runs from October 15 through April 15, unless extended by the city.
Payment is made upon submission of a completed invoice to the departmental representative and authorization by the city. A minimum payment of $1,000 is guaranteed upon contract completion if services are performed satisfactorily.
The award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the best value of the total bid price. MWBE bidders receive a 5% price advantage.
Bidders must provide drivers license, insurance, and equipment information within five days of award notification and schedule an inspection. Equipment must be in excellent condition and comply with all applicable laws.
Failure to start plowing at the specified time, failure to notify the city of equipment being out of service, or failure to repair damages may result in penalties, fines not limited to $100, and withholding of payment.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 a. m. via Zoom meeting.
No samples are required for this bid.
Bids may be rejected for a history of inadequate performance, non-compliant equipment, financial instability, or violation of laws. Failure to provide required documentation by the deadline can lead to forfeiture of bid security.
