Embassy of the United States of America seeks proposals for Lochab borehole drilling services. The project includes drilling, casing, screens, gravel, backfill, development, aquifer testing, water analysis, headworks, pump and control panel installation, and associated piping and electrical work. The estimated contract value is between $25,000 and $100,000. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for August 7, 2026, at the Lochab construction site. Offerors must be technically qualified, financially responsible, and have established businesses in Kenya. The award will be made to the lowest priced, acceptable, responsible quoter. The completion time is expected to be no later than 30 actual construction working days after the notice to proceed.
The entire work must be completed and ready for use not later than 30 actual construction working days after the notice to proceed.
Payment shall be made in local currency by electronic funds transfer (EFT) within 30 days after receipt of the proper invoice. Requests for payment may be made no more frequently than monthly.
The contractor warrants that the items delivered are merchantable and fit for the particular purpose described in the contract. Special warranties may be required as set forth in FAR ****, Warranty of Construction.
Award will be made to the lowest priced, acceptable, responsible quoter.
Offerors must be technically qualified and financially responsible, understand written and spoken English, have an established business in Kenya, possess proof of registration and authorization, have experience in similar projects, possess technical expertise and equipment, have all local licenses and permits, provide a detailed Gantt chart, meet local insurance requirements, and have no adverse criminal record or affiliations contrary to U. S. interests.
If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, liquidated damages of $500 for each calendar day of delay will be assessed.
A site visit is scheduled for August 7, 2026, at the Lochab construction site. Offerors are urged and expected to inspect the site.
Failure to timely submit required security may result in rescinding or termination of the contract. Failure to provide required information for security checks may be grounds for rejection or resubmittal.
The anticipated range in price of this contract will be: $25,000 to $100,000.
