Bids are invited for street resurfacing, including milling and overlay of approximately 9,400 square yards of asphalt pavement on 3rd, 4th, and High Streets. The project includes removal and resurfacing with 2 inches of asphalt, drive approaches, sidewalks, and ADA upgrades. Sealed bids will be received until 10:00 a. m. on July 7, 2026, at the City of Ecorse Clerk's Office. Contract documents are available for download from bidnetdirect. com/mitn starting June 12, 2026, with a **** non-refundable fee. Bidders must download documents from bidnet/mitn to be on the plan holders list. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond of at least 5% of the bid amount. The City of Ecorse reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Bids may not be withdrawn for 60 days after the bid opening. Bidders are responsible for examining contract documents, visiting the site, and considering all applicable laws and regulations.
The work will be substantially completed on or before 09/15/2026, and completed and ready for final payment on or before 09/25/2026.
Progress payments and retainage are governed by PA ****, No. 524 MCLA **** et seq. The contractor's representative will submit applications for payment in accordance with Article 14 of Section 00 72 00.
Contractor will keep in good order and repair any defect in the work for a period of one (1) year from the date of payment of the final estimate, due to improper materials, defective equipment, workmanship, or arrangements.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
No bid will be considered from any bidder unless known to be skilled and regularly engaged in work of a character similar to that covered by the contract documents. Bidders must furnish evidence of experience, familiarity with similar work, and financial ability.
Liquidated damages will apply to the substantial completion date. Contractor to pay owner $1,**** for each day that expires after the time duly adjusted for substantial completion until work is substantially complete.
Bidders are responsible for visiting the site to familiarize themselves with local conditions that may affect the cost, progress, or performance of the work.

Failure to comply with conditions for executing the agreement and furnishing contract security within 15 days of the notice of award may result in bid security forfeiture and annulment of the notice of award.
