The City of High Point is seeking a qualified contractor for the installation of a new standby generator (model: SG175) at Fire Station 1. The project includes complete installation, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes. A mandatory prebid conference will be held on April 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Fire Station 1. Bids are due by April 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM. An electrical license is required. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. State and county sales taxes are not included in bid prices and will be added to the invoice.
The bid document states that the contractor shall perform the work in a timely fashion in accordance with the requirements of the contract documents. Projects must be completed by 90 calendar days of notice to proceed if applicable. The contract completion date is the date by which the contractor must achieve final completion of the work.
The City will pay the contractor the lump sum for final completion of the work. If a portion of the contract price is based upon unit prices, the City will pay the contractor at the unit prices set forth in the contractor's itemized proposal form. Payment will be made within thirty 30 days of the City's receipt of the architect-engineer's notice of approval of the payment application. Final payment will be made within forty-five 45 calendar days after the acceptable final payment application has been approved by the architect-engineer.
The contractor warrants and guarantees that all aspects of the work will be performed and completed in a good and workmanlike fashion consistent with the highest quality of work performed by contractors in Guilford County and surrounding areas. The contractor further warrants and guarantees that all aspects of the work will be free from defects and will be in full compliance with the contract documents. The contractor shall at its own expense promptly replace, repair, or correct any defective materials or workmanship appearing within one 1 year from the date of final completion of the work.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder meeting specifications unless otherwise specified in the project special provision section.

The bidder must also be in compliance with the e-Verify requirements of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the North Carolina General Statutes.
A delay by the contractor in achieving final completion of the work by the contract completion date will result in liquidated damages of five hundred 500 per calendar day. Failure to execute the bid properly prior to submittal shall render the bid invalid and it will be rejected. Late bids will not be accepted.
A prebid conference will be held on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Fire Station 1 located at 508 N. Centennial St, High Point, NC. All prospective bidders are urged and cautioned to attend so as to prepare bids based upon a full understanding of project specifications.
Questions concerning this bid are due in writing via email by: April 20, 2026, by 12:00 PM. An addendum to address questions will be issued on or before April 22, 2026.
