Highlands County is seeking bids for the Catfish Creek Road over Catfish Creek Bridge Rehabilitation project. The work includes scour countermeasures, bridge deck and approach slab cleaning, joint seal replacement, concrete spall repair, slope protection repair, sheet pile coating, asphalt removal, and striping replacement. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on June 9, 2026. Bids are due by July 1, 2026, at 3:30 PM. A bid bond of 5% is required for bids over $100,000. A public construction bond is required for bids over $200,000. Bidders must be licensed in Florida.
The submission deadline is Tuesday, July 1, 2026, prior to 3:30 PM.
Retainage of five percent (5%) will be held until final completion and acceptance of the project, with specific conditions for payment distribution outlined.
Award will be made to the most responsive and responsible bidder whose bid and qualifications indicate that the award will be in the best interest of the county.
Bidders must provide evidence of experience with three similar jobs in the past five years, possess a current contractor license in Florida, and be enrolled in the E-Verify program.
Liquidated damages will be assessed for each calendar day that expires after the final completion date, as shown on the bid form.

Parties in active litigation with Highlands County or who have received notice of breach of contract without resolution may be considered non-responsible and rejected.
