The City of Rockville is seeking a contractor for elevator maintenance and repair services for nine elevator systems and one wheelchair lift. Bids are due by 2:00 PM ET on July 14, 2026. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit will be held on June 30, 2026. The contract term is one year, with four one-year renewal options. Bidders must have at least five years of prior experience. Electronic submission is required via the city's collaboration portal. Electronic payments will be issued.
Bids are due by 2:00 PM ET on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Bids received after this date and time will not be considered.
The city will compensate the contractor in the form of either lump sum payment upon completion and acceptance of the work or monthly progress payments. The city's standard payment term is Net 30.
The contractor guarantees that the items conform to the design and specifications and will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a minimum of one year after initial delivery, unless another effective period is specified.
Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder complying with all provisions of the invitation for bid, provided the price is reasonable and in the best interest of the city to accept.
Bidders must provide written evidence through references of five years prior experience with the scope of work as detailed in the specifications.
Defective or unsuitable materials or workmanship shall be rejected and made good by the contractor. If the contractor fails to correct work within the specified period, they may be subject to contractual default provisions.
An in-person pre-bid site visit meeting will be held on June 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET, followed by a walking tour of various city locations.
Samples of items, if requested, shall be furnished without charge, upon request within ten days. Failure to provide samples may be cause to consider the bid as nonresponsive.
