This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the City of Charleston, South Carolina, seeking qualified and experienced firms to perform horizontal sidewalk cutting services. Proposals are due by April 28, 2026, at 11:30 AM. Inquiries must be submitted in writing to Vera M. White by April 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM. The city reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. Vendors must demonstrate experience with similar work, provide detailed pricing, and adhere to specific technical specifications for sidewalk repair. Payment for goods and services will be processed within 30 days of receipt of a valid invoice. Prompt payment discount terms will be calculated from the point of complete order acceptance.
All labor and materials are warranted to be free from defects for a minimum period of twenty-four (24) months after the date of final payment by the City. The offeror shall state their normal warranty and any extended warranties where available.
Award of contract shall be made to the most responsive and responsible offeror whose proposal, conforming to the solicitation, is most advantageous to the City of Charleston, price and other factors considered.
Contractors must provide detailed information and references on at least 3 trip hazard removal projects completed in the past 12 months, demonstrating their ability to meet the city's required specifications and timeline. They must also show proof of qualifications, experience, tools, and equipment.
If the contractor fails to comply with the terms of the contract, the City may terminate the contract by written notice. The contractor shall only be compensated for services actually completed prior to termination and shall not be entitled to any costs or damages resulting from such a termination.
