This is an invitation to bid for building repairs at the South Annex Building in Tybee Island, Georgia. The scope of work includes TPO membrane roof replacement, aluminum standing seam roof replacement, installation of collection boxes, aluminum box gutters, downspouts, and buried storm sewer, PVC facia board installation, and installation of plywood, hardie siding, and synthetic weatherbarrier. Bids are due by Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM. A pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Bidders must submit a bid bond, W9, occupational tax certificate, and certificate of insurance. The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder with the lowest responsive bid.
The bid due date is Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM local time.
The city will make payments to the contractor within thirty 30 days from the date of receipt of the contractors acceptable statement. The city of tybee island is a taxexempt entity. The contract terms are intended to supersede all provisions of the Georgia Prompt Pay Act.
Work Unit A includes a no dollar limit warranty for a period of twenty 20 years. Work Unit B and C include a five 5 year warranty on all components of the gutter system. Unless otherwise specified by the City of Tybee Island, the bidder will unconditionally guarantee the materials and workmanship for one 1 year from completion of the project or delivery of goods.
The bid will be awarded to the responsible bidder with the lowest responsive bid.
The city has the right to require any or all bidders to submit documentation of the ability to perform, provide, or carry out the service or provide the product requested. The city has the right to disqualify the bid of any bidder as being unresponsive or unresponsible whenever such bidder cannot document the ability to deliver the requested product or service.
Liquidated damages are set at five hundred dollars (****) per day for delay in completion of construction.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Public Safety Building Conference Room. Interested bidders are encouraged to attend.
Potential bidders must present any written objection to this ITB at least seven 7 days prior to the bid due date. Protests must be submitted in writing no later than 48 hours after the bid opening.
