This is a sealed bid invitation from the City of Worcester for the installation of an Above Ground Fuel Storage Tank (AST) and related site work. Bids are due by April 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Labor and subbids are not required. Bidders must submit a complete bid package including the general bid form, unit pricing forms, and bid security (5% of total bid). All questions must be submitted in writing to Chris Gagliastro via email. A pre-bid meeting will not be held, but bidders may view the site on their own during regular business hours. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The project must be completed within 120 days from the date of contract execution. The bid must include prevailing wage rates and compliance with minority/women business enterprise and worker utilization programs.
The project must be completed and equipment in service no later than 120 days from the date of contract execution.
Payment shall be made by the City in accordance with general laws chapter 30, section 39g **** ed. , as amended, which is included in the supplementary general conditions to the contract.
The contractor guarantees the work under this agreement and the materials furnished by him for use in connection therewith to be free from defects or flaws for one year after the completion of the agreement.
The general contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible general bidder complying with the conditions and requirements provided in these instructions, the bid forms and the other bid documents.
The bidder is requested to state below what work of a similar character to that included in the proposed contract he/she has done and to give references that will enable the owner to judge his/her experience, skill, business standing and overall responsibility.
If the contractor fails to correct defective or nonconforming work, the owner may correct it and charge the cost thereof to the contractor.
Bidders may view the site on their own during regular business hours Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
All questions and requests for clarifications or interpretations of the meaning of the contract documents shall be in writing, addressed to the purchasing department, city of worcester, and to be given consideration must be received at least five 5 days prior to the date fixed for opening of bids.
