To provide refuse and recycling collection services for Windward Community College, University of Hawaii. Refuse and recycling collection services for Windward Community College, University of Hawaii, Kaneohe, Hawaii. The services include: general waste pickup every Monday and Thursday before 8: 00 a. m., recycling pickup every Tuesday before 8: 00 a. m. Recycling includes cardboard, office paper, newspaper, plastic jugs/ bottles, aluminum cans and glass bottles. Specific locations, quantities, and container sizes are detailed in the technical specifications. Additional on- call pickups are possible.
The University of Hawaii is seeking bids for refuse and recycling collection services at Windward Community College. Bids must be submitted electronically through the state's electronic procurement system (HiEPRO) by 2:30 PM, May 8, 2025. Bidders must be registered on HiEPRO. Questions and requests for clarification must be submitted electronically through HiEPRO by April 28, 2025, at 4:00 PM HST. The contract will be for an initial period commencing on July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, and may be renewable for up to four additional years. Bidders must comply with Hawaii Revised Statutes, chapters 103 and 103d, and section ****, regarding wage rates and insurance. A mandatory site visit is required. The bidder must provide the names, addresses, and phone numbers of three agencies for which refuse and recycling collection service is currently provided. The university reserves the right to reject any potential bidder if, in its discretion, the university determines that the bidder does not have the requisite experience or expertise to provide the goods and/or services. The contractor shall be responsible for the disposition of all refuse at the disposal sites, including dump fee charges. The university reserves the right to add or delete new pickup areas and containers upon request. The contractor shall provide refuse containers at the specified locations, and maintain them in a clean and sanitary condition. The contractor shall be responsible for any overages in refuse volume. The contractor shall comply with all laws, ordinances, statutes, and regulations pertaining to the collection, transportation, and disposal of refuse and shall obtain such permits, licenses or other authorization as may be required. Insurance requirements are detailed in the special provisions. The contractor shall contact the technical representative to establish operational and administrative procedures, including coordination, scheduling contract personnel, and lead time for notification of nonscheduled pickups. The contractor shall not be permitted to interfere with university operations, and work schedules shall be coordinated with the technical representative prior to commencing work. The contractor shall be remunerated upon submission of a properly executed original invoice indicating the contract number, to windward community college, business office, **** keaahala road, kaneohe, hawaii ****, no later than thirty 30 calendar days following submission of invoice and acceptance of services.
